I do have an essay quasi-written for today, but it’s a tricky one and I’m gonna sit on it for a day while I consider. It’s a tetchy subject, to be sure.
So while I consider, let’s do an exercise: is there anything you want me to answer? I’m happy to respond to any questions on anything – writing techniques, the shows I’m watching, my kink, poly advice, or just plain shit you’ve been wondering about me but never asked. I’m open today. Hit me in the comments.
Oh, and asking me a clever question that you don’t actually want the answer to, such as “How much wood could a woodchuck chuck?” Not clever at all. Annoying, in fact. Eschew it.
Which books have you read that made you “green with envy”, and which made you think, “Hell, if this can be published so can I!”?
My go-to is usually Piers Anthony. Which is a little mean, because he has written very good books (I’ll defend ON A PALE HORSE to anyone), but his bad is very very bad. Part of it is that he’s a name author and can churn out Xanth books, which he cheerfully admits (or so I’m told), but those late books are so bad they give me hope.
Ever heard of Norwescon? It’s a Seattle area SF convention held over Easter weekend. Started as a “literary” convention but now has other things too. Would love to someday meet you and play some MtG 🙂
It’s the stomping grounds of my good friend Keffy, and I’d love to go, but unless they can pay my plane fare, I can’t really afford to travel that far. Sadly. I really want to go to the Seattle area! I have so many people I’d love to visit there.
If you could undo/change one decision you’ve made in the past 5 years, what would you change and how do you think it would make you a different person today?

I wouldn’t. That’s what “The Backdated Romance” is all about. I like things too much the way they are now to risk getting something worse.
Fair answer. Was hoping to inspire something more but definitely an answer I can respect.
I’d be afraid of what I’d become if I ever got my hands on an iTime, myself…not quite the same, obviously, but it’s still a terrifying thought.

Some time back (and I mean a WHILE… I’ve been waiting for one of these days) you mentioned having an experience with some Christian “Emmaus” people. I think I know who you are talking about, and I have been curious ever since what your experience was. To clarify, I have been involved with a movement called the Walk to Emmaus for a long time now, and am curious as to whether it is the same people you were talking about and what happened. As it is an international thing and I am not near you I cannot speak to anything that happened in Ohio, but through experience I can speak in general and to an extent as to what is supposed to happen. Which, as we all know, is not always what actually does happen. 🙁
