A Review On The Cultist's Son

If you haven’t read my story “The Cultist’s Son” yet, this review may have summarized the effect I was trying to invoke:

Ferrett Steinmetz’s The Cultist’s Son was deeply disturbing, violent and evoking a very visceral reaction from me in the way where I can’t tell if I liked it or not no matter how good it actually was.

….I actually shoot for that a lot.

    Glad I managed to summarize it well. :p
    It definitely made me want to actually sit down and read Lovecraft’s works, though. It’s a not-s0-secret shame of mine that I’ve never read a thing he’s written, so all the Cthulhu references people make tend to go right over my head most of the time.

      Honestly, I love Lovecraft, but I don’t know if you need to read him directly. He’s one of those weird writers who’s often better filtered through others.
